now that 8 month old ellie has developed far beyond the point of infantile ocular focusing, it became clear that it was high time to do something with our baby bubba gumball's room. we're not trying to raise a little baby spartan, you know. and since i'm basically the male version of martha stewart, i figured we should do something really dazzling!

things are starting to happen really quickly up until now....

there's nothing like a little gold leafing to slow down the whole production.

and, blammo! ellie's room!

the clouds sit on the wall at about a 45 degree angle so that the crib's eye view is plenty interesting, and the gold leaf does catch the light in an extremely fascinating manner. in fact, if ellie were a large mouth bass, she'd be leaping up at those things starting every morning at about 15 minutes before sunrise. thank goodness she's a human, because 15 minutes before sunrise is WAY too early for these parents to be waking up.
